International Service Learning: More Than Construction Work

BuildingInstead of just sitting in a classroom or lecture theatre, with International Service Learning (ISL), students get out of their comfort zone and learn by serving a community in another country.

And learn they certainly do. Jeffrey Yang, who has led a number of such projects, describes how his students are transformed:

The development is very obvious, the timid become confident, and the confident feel that they can now take on the world.
