E-Pract : Mobile E-assessment for Clinical Skills

Students pursuing the Diploma in Optometry at the School of Health Science (HS) spend about a third of their curriculum in practical sessions where they  perform eye examinations for real clients. These learning experiences are closely supervised by lecturers who will review students’ performance and provide important feedback for learning and improvement. However, the old system of using paper-based assessment forms resulted in delays in processing feedback for students and was not convenient for  monitoring students’ progress.

Faced with these challenges, the Optometry lecturers decided to develop a new E-practical Assessment process that would to allow for easier administration leading to better monitoring of students’ learning and timely feedback for learning.

Click on the link below to find out how the use of E-Pract has changed the way assessment is used for evaluation and learning.
