Game-based Learning brings the Shipping Industry into the classrooM

Ho Chee Hoong and William Lim from the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business and Accountancy developed the Shipping Game to allow students to make better sense of the topics that they are learning through a "game" environment.  Students are able to immerse themselves and gain insights into the logistics and shipping industry through the various tasks that they have to complete within the game.  This Shipping Game simulation also allows them to experience different types of jobs in the industry which enables students to see how content learnt in class is applied in the various processes in real world.

This paper was presented at the 11th International Symposium for Advances in Technology Education (ISATE) 2017 held at Ngee Polytechnic, Singapore.
