DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES IN CURRICULUM @ NP: A BUSINESS STUDIES APPROACH

Lecturers of the Diploma in Business studies designed an experiential learning activity that requires students to apply what they have learnt in their Learning & Development module to a real Training workshops for their juniors!  This activity requires students to work on an actual training programme with their lecturers as their client, and their juniors as their training participants. These student-trainers are subjected to the same level of scrutiny as they would be working on such a project in the industry, and in the process, students have to learnt to deal with real world issues such as problem solving, making decisions, and being responsible for their decisions which all have real consequences and impact.

Read on to find our more details about how this experiential learning activity is implemented.

This paper was presented at the 10th ISATE in Sendai, Japan by Ms Jacqueline Fong from School of Business & Accountancy.
